KT Tape for Plantar Fasciitis Review

So you have some plantar fasciitis pain.  We all know it hurts, I personally had a period of time where plantar fasciitis was affecting my right foot.  I tried many different solutions, to help resolve the issue.

One which helped a lot was using KT or Kinesio Tape.  Below is a little more information on both Plantar Fasciitis and Kinesio Tape

Plantar Fasciitis

Your foot has thick, fibrous band of tissue (”fascia”) reaching from your heel to your toes. These tissues support the muscles and arch of the foot. When they’re overly stretched, tiny tears can occur in their surface.  These tiny tears will cause inflammation and pain. If you want more information, check this post on plantar fasciitis.

Kinesio Tape or KT

The tape was invented by Japanese chiropractor Kenzo Kase in the 1970s. The U.K. web site for Kinesio tape claims it can alleviate pain, reduce inflammation, relax muscles, enhance performance, and help with rehabilitation as well as supporting muscles during a sporting event. Key Features used for the KT Tape for Plantar Fasciitis Review

Strong Adhesive

A key part of having a good Kinesio Tape is the adhesive.  The adhesive should be strong enough to endure rigorous activity. It should be water, sweat, and humidity resistant.

Easy to Use

Kinesio Tape should be easy to apply.  Often Kinesio Tape is applied at home and needs to be applied in repeatedly to treat an injury over time.  Instructions should be available either in the package or online.  Often brands have their own youtube channels, such as KT Tape.

Precut

Having precut strips makes it easier to apply.  It also avoids cutting the tape from larger rolls.  In the case of the fain tail cut applications, which are often used for feet, this makes it much easier to apply by the average user.
